Nowadays, many people around the world are facing and suffering from GERD,
better known as Acid Reflux Disease and it is considered as severe and chronic
disease. This kind of disease can show the following different symptoms.
1 Heartburn: a burning pain or discomfort that may move from
your stomach to your abdomen or chest, or even up to your throat, this symptom
is very common of the patient with such a disease and unfortunately in the very
severe case the gas could re-flux from the small intestine through the stomach, esophagus and even the upper esophagus near the pharynx . That is because the lower and upper
sphincter which prevents the gas or acid re-fluxing from the small intestine and stomach
don’t work well any more. Moreover there are the minor or unfamiliar symptoms
and those are:
2 Bloating
3 Bloody or black stools or bloody vomiting
4 Burping
5 Dysphagia -- a narrowing of your esophagus, which creates
the sensation of food being stuck in your throat
6 Hiccups that don't let up
7 Nausea
8 Weight loss for no known reason
9 Wheezing, dry cough, hoarseness, or chronic sore throat
10 Regurgitation: a sour or bitter-tasting acid backing up into
your throat or mouth
Why the sphincters are abnormal and don’t work properly any more?
From many researches or studies the unsuitable work of
both parts leading to acid re-flux caused by the long several wrong activities from the past to the present without paying attention to their
health behaviors, the followings may be among them.
1 Eating too large meals make the stomach expand into the sphincters
so they were enlarged and loosed unexpectedly and then the strong gas or acid
could pass easily through them and harm by burning both the stomach and esophagus,
which is the main cause of this symptom.
Eating a lot of each meal makes the stomach cannot digest
foods and produce much more acid or gas up to the esophagus.
2 Lying down immediately
after the meal mentioned above
3 Being overweight or obese
4 Eating a heavy meal and lying on your back or bending over
at the waist
5 Snacking or any others close to bedtime
6 Having some foods leading to the symptoms, such as citrus,
tomato, chocolate, mint, garlic, onions, or spicy or fatty foods
7 Often drinking certain beverages, such as alcohol,
carbonated drinks, coffee, or tea
Smoking
8 Being pregnant
9 Having taken some of medicines too long time, such as aspirin,
ibuprofen, certain muscle relaxers, or blood pressure medications
