Green Seal teams campaigning going green in businesses

Many businesses especially hotels are finding out new management ways inside them and they call them (new management methods) as “green practices and products” not only are these management methods good for the environment, but it is also great for their bottom line. According to several business owners, one Los Angeles hotel is saving money by going green; moreover, is helping the earth.

Now there are five hotels are formally participating in this program of recycling and conservation by using environmentally safe products and doing sustainable waste disposal; for example, at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport, the largest of the five, has more than 1,200 guest rooms can save a lot of money for electricity bill almost 200,000 US dollars a year from last year till this year with waste removal down 10 percent from a year ago.

Grand Coonley, a general manager of this hotel said that as costs are cut, energy and water use have dropped. Reservations though are up and guests are more likely to book the hotel with a conservation program. He also says “There are many groups requesting this. They are requesting the recycle bins”. His hotel uses low-energy lights and water-efficient toilets.

The president of Green Seal Arthur Weissman with which the hotel is working said getting the certification requires careful tracking by a restaurant or hotel and looking at the energy it uses, the water it uses, any of the waste that it produces, the chemicals that it uses. He also said that the Hillton LAX is meeting the standard for Green certification. Not only does Green Seal certify to services like hotels, but it also do for the other products and businesses.

Again he said “We do paper products, cleaning products, paints, other building maintenance products, windows and nowadays such a green practices are great for business, but there are more important reasons for going green and I has written a recent book exploring the issues.

According Weissman, most businesses and governments have not yet modified their wasteful and polluting practices, but he hope finally they will as they will see it’s in their best interest to do such a thing that we are all here together- all the stereotyped images of the spaceship planet. We ‘re all in this world together and we all have to survive in it together.

Local leaders in Los Angeles have implemented a green business and lodging program in partnership with Green Seal and other organizations.
