How have the patients been in Syria before, during and after the conflict?

Many people in Syria especially children have faced the severe fatalness both before and during and maybe after the bad situation of conflict. According to the charities saving the children, about 60 percent of Syria’s hospitals have been damaged since the start of the too long year conflicts and nearly half of its doctors have fled the country.

Many children who were born after 2010 could not reach the vaccinations for two years because there have been heavy restrictions in access to vaccines and health workers have not been able to reach children in need.

Many diseases such as Measles, meningitis and polio have harmed especially the children. The polio which was reported to be eradicated across Syria in 1995 has now infected up to 80,000 children.

The vaccination coverage of Syria was about 91 percent; however, it fell to 68 percent just a year after the conflict’s start and is unfortunately probably much lower now.

Some skin diseases such as Leishmaniasis-a parasitic disease caused by the bite of the sandflies has increased because of overcrowding and poor living conditions, water and sanitation.

It has been reported that there were no more than 3,000 cases before the conflict, but now they are up to more than 100,000 cases so any humanitarian groups must be given freedom of access to the areas and aid should be allowed across the conflict areas after ceasefires to save the children.

It is very bad thing if children are dying from the preventable and treatable injuries and illnesses.
